In 1996 began playing Scottish small pipes in pub Celtic jam sessions before forming Highlander in 1999. Justin has over 30 years of piping experience and has been at the helm and the heart of Highlander with a strong passion for piping and Celtic music

N8 started out playing in Bush Bands while still in High School, performing at Yallah Woolshed most Saturday nights for over 5 years. His 9-5 work had N8 re-locate to Newcastle in 1999 and joined the Irish Rock band Erin late 2000, performing all types of functions around Newcastle/Hunter region and Sydney for countless weddings and private parties. In 2008, Erin performed at the Port Fairy and Yakkandanda Folk Festivals being a highlight for N8. Enjoying the Fiddle, Mandolin and a mean harmony with a diverse range of influences from Dylan to Pearl Jam, N8 presents his whole heart on stage proving commitment to melody with emotion.

Newcastles vibrant Arts and Music scene drew Dan to Newcastle in 2013, since when he has split his time between performance and studio work both as an instrumentalist and music producer. As the newest member of the band Dan is very pleased to be working with such passionate and professional musicians and is looking forward to many great Highlander shows in the future..

Boasting over a two decades of performance history, Chris (Davo) Davidson has been responsible for keeping the beat for a number of successful Hunter bands, across an impressive range of musical styles. The most recent of these acts include Erin, Meriah, Greenginger, Broke Road and Yellow Feather Dogs. With training based in jazz and rock, Davo’s talent and diversity have allowed him the opportunity to work with a number of recognised artists, including Golden Guitar winner, Johnny Green and Newcastle Legends Nick Raschke (The Slots) and Marty Burke (The Milestones). Also a successful drum teacher for over 12 years, Davo enjoys sharing his love and extensive knowledge of music with the future generations of drummers.
